T thought he was about to die.
We tried to extract the toothpick and managed to get it really lost in his foot.
T did not sleep last night. At least not before 4 am, which is hard on me, because I get up at 5:30.
Today I left early and took him to Children's Hospital.
Where is Waldo's toothpick?
They took xrays? xrays? And then told us they couldn't see the wood on the xray. So why did they take xrays? The mind boggles.
They shot him up with Lidocaine and sliced him open.
They couldn't find the toothpick. It took two stitches to close up his foot.

They are talking about general surgery.
For a toothpick. Which is a splinter on steriods.
Omg how terrible! Poor T!
ReplyDeleteBlecvh :(
ReplyDeleteYou can draw it out with some ichthammol... Put a big 'ol blob on, bandage securely. The (stinky) ointment soothes the inflammation immediately, and in a day or two the toothpick will come out on it's own. Best stuff ever - super for abscesses. :D
ReplyDeleteOh no! That stinks, hope he gets better soon!
ReplyDeleteCalm, forward, straight seems to have a great idea! Give 'er a go and please keep us updated!
ReplyDeleteOuch! Ouch! OUCH!!! Poor guy!
ReplyDeleteLove the header, btw.
OH MY GOD
ReplyDeleteOMG!!! This post made me lightheaded and dizzy. Poor guy!! Is he positive it's still in there? Maybe it hung up on the carpet and came out? :( I can't believe they took x-rays...... having trouble figuring out what the point of that was.....
ReplyDeleteThe toothpick so far has denied the drawing power of the ichthammol. Which is a bummer. We will try again tomorrow. He is still refusing to put any weight on the foot, although I keep telling him it will help move the toothpick out.
ReplyDeleteI so do not want to do general surgery.
