Looking Back

I was going to do this post for my 300th entry, but I missed the boat. I decided it was still a good time to look back at our journey, because I am in amazement at this horse. I stand in awe of him.

These photos can still bring tears to my eyes. He is so strong and forgiving and he has come back from so much. One year of great care, good food, proper vet care, careful, balanced work and a great deal of love made a huge difference in both of our lives.

So glad we brought him home.

    1. Terry, I can tell you I wasn't sure it would happen. J says she saw him whole and healthy the first time we saw him and her faith and belief in his ability to recover has never wavered. Even when the vet was telling us she could feel a twist in his intestines and he needed surgery (which we weren't going to do), J said she didn't believe it. She thought he would recover and go on, and he has. He has gained eight inches across the chest from last fall (October) and his hip, back and legs have gained strength and muscle. He's even willing to jump a crosstie now. He's such an amazing horse.
