FML

 No tendon, just skin.
Turnout accident.
Horse hoof  with shoe.


Wrapped leg. 
No stitches.
Antibiotics for seven days.
Banamine.

  4. Ive seen the same injury before .. it will heal fine ..just take a bit of work. darn horses.. did he get the front of the other hind?

    1. mostly splashed blood, but a small scrape too. I also think he went down when he was clipped, since he was covered in sweaty dirt.

    1. I think it's more likely a "clip" from another horse while they were tearing around the track at a dead run. Ashke was foamy with sweat when the BO realized he was hurt and brought him inside. The vet said that he was pretty positive the wound was made by another horse hoof, kind of the way you can get a flat tire when someone steps on the back of your shoe. Since that is what it looks like to me too, I'm going with that diagnosis. :)
