Sip and Paint

As a disclaimer, I am not an artist. I have no desire to be an artist. I admire and covet those who have the talent and ability to render objects and images into pleasing forms with pen, pencil, clay, oil, acrylic, etc. I think that talent it one of the most amazing.

That said, I am a team player when it comes to work. When our Controller suggested we go to a Sip and Paint studio to spend a couple of hours drinking and painting, a little bit of me cringed inside. See, not only am I not an artist, but the few times I have tried have resulted in art work that a kindergartener would be shamed to display. And I don't drink. I suggested paintball, but that was overridden and so on Tuesday, we left work early to go to a Sip and Paint.

This was the painting the group choose:

This is what I painted:

The woman running the art studio said,

"You must really love that horse."

I do. I really do.

  1. Haha I love it! People love those classes but I'm kind of meh on them. I prefer your painting much more than the group one.

  4. You know what? When you texted "This is what it was supposed to look like" with the picture of the tree, I didn't get it! So everyone else painted the tree and you painted Ashke! I LOVE it! And love your artistic style.

    1. Yes. I decided the only way the painting would come out is if I painted something that meant something to me. So, I did and you see the results.

    1. Yes, I am glad I went. It was fun, which I kind of wasn't expecting. And my hidden artistic talent has advanced to that of a third grader, at least!
