First time we met.

I was crying inside. Wasn't sure I wanted to bring him home. J said, unequivically, that we had to rescue him. I thought he was so broken, but she kept saying he was fine mentally and that we had to take him home. She was right.
He traveled from Amarillo to Denver without any problems. He kept sticking his nose out of the trailer to see what was going on. He had no fear of cars, trucks or motorcycles when we unloaded him in Limon. He walked back on the trailer for a couple slices of bread.
First day at Christensens. He spent the night in his own stall, without having to share food or space with anyone else. He had already put on some weight from the first time we saw him, since I had demanded that S and family feed him separate from the rest of the herd. I estimate all 75 lbs of food I bought for him went directly onto his body.
He looked and felt better after his first bath, but it would take months for his body to recover.
