Now that I ...Thank you for all of the information! Now that I know they are Malinois/Boxer I can totally see both breeds in them lol. I LOVE both the Malinois and the Boxer. What a fun (high maintenance) cross hehe. I hope you will include them in the blog more often. Pretty please! :DAchieve1dreamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15401246064499148344noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7657955103086716631.post-59339168081219422742014-03-25T22:19:29.149-06:002014-03-25T22:19:29.149-06:00We have two female Malinois-Boxer mixes. The Malin...We have two female Malinois-Boxer mixes. The Malinois is a Belgian shepard and Lily (fawn) looks just like them. Their mother was a black/brown brindle with flash (a lot of white) and she had a litter of nine. We got them at 10 weeks and they had never been outside. We brought them home on January 11th, three days after losing my heart dog Spike (although Lily is giving him a run for his money). They are smart and quirky and incredibly vocal protectors of the house. (I would not enter our house if I was a stranger. I think Lily would take them apart. Or at least bark her head off.)

They love to ride in the car, love the dog park, love sleeping on the bed, and are the most voracious chewers I have ever experienced. So far they have eaten my iPhone, the billets on my saddle, a pair of Oakley sunglasses and the edges of our wooden shutters. It takes Skittle 6 minutes to chew down a 12" bully stick the thickness of my finger. I know. I timed her.

We've been very careful to try not to scare them. Scaring a Malinois can make them timid which in turn can make them vicious. I have never had to raise my voice to them. All I have to do is ask "Is that yours?" in a relatively quiet voice and they both slink away. Lily believes our little black kitten is her soul mate and when they are in close proximity, Lily refuses to breathe and stares without moving or blinking at the kitten. Who ignores her.

They are almost a year and a half old. How old? How long have you had them? They need their own page hehehe. Again, they are gorgeous!! It's sad the breeder didn't socialize them, but I'm glad you're helping them become socially normal hehe. I wish more people understood the importance of socializing dogs young.
